Keeping Families Together After Drug Addiction at Narconon Fresh Start

Drug addiction, more often than not, tears families apart. The addicted person will usually start to act differently and isolate his or her self from the family and begin to cause a lot of pain and heart break among their loved ones from the poor choices that are being made while under the control of drug addiction.

We help individuals understand the hurt and pain that they caused to their family and society through their addiction by getting them to take a look at the past decisions they made. Once they recognize how their actions affected others, they are able to go in and start repairing the damage that was created.

Don’s daughter was addicted to meth. She came to Narconon Fresh Start and got her life back after trying several other rehabilitation programs.

We asked Don in a video interview what were some of the changes that he saw in his daughter Jana after she completed the Narconon Fresh Start program and this is what he had to say.

Success skills – they’re back!

“I’m sure that the program of Narconon Fresh Start is responsible for Jana coming back home to values that she embraced as a young child. Honesty; Jana couldn’t tell a lie when she was a little girl. I mean, not that she wanted to, but she couldn’t. When she was in her addiction, she certainly could, but today, that’s back. You know, honesty, forthrightness, dependability, I presume all of those things were emphasized within that program because they came back. Those kinds of skills that when I was in education, we called success indicators. Success skills – they’re back! They’re there and she practices them daily. Not only with us, but in her work and with her friends. I think this program is very responsible for her coming to that point in her life where she’s got this as a lifestyle.”

I Never Would Have Thought I Could Ever Feel This Good Again

I never would have thought I could ever feel this good again. I feel like I did in high school before I began my drinking escape. Narconon Fresh Start has helped me so much in a variety of ways. I know how badly I was damaging my body, I know I was hanging out with the wrong group of people who were only bringing me down. I have successfully cut the toxic people out of my life and have begun repairing my relationship with my family. I am so grateful that I had this opportunity and can’t wait to use all of the things I have learned in my daily life.

I can Again be a Healthy Contributor to Myself, My Family and Society

I read and filled out exercises in the Personal Values book. I believe the success part of this for me is that I understood it. The action part is what will make this a success for me. In other words, using the knowledge I gained from this part of the program when I leave. I realized from the readings, I am a pretty moral and ethical being, but because I have had problems in the past, perhaps confronting situations in an unhealthy manner, and withholding have become a piece I need to do without to stay sober and continue a healthy lifestyle that I know and love. This course has given me the opportunity. I will continue to go back and read the material in this book as a reminder so I can again be a healthy contributor to myself, my family and society as I have been in the past, and can be again with these reminders.

I Feel Like I Did Before I Started Using Drugs

When I first got here, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life. I just knew I was willing to do anything at this point to help myself stay sober and get my family back. I went through the program with a positive attitude, which I had not had in a long time. I studied everything to the best of my ability and thought of ways I could apply what I learned to my everyday life. I kept noticing changes in myself, my attitude, my thoughts and my physical appearance. Now, I can’t even think of the words to describe the way I feel and act. I feel like I did before I started using drugs, maybe even better. Thank you Narconon Fresh Start. I love you for what you do and how you bring purpose back into the lives of so many.

This is the Best Program that I Could Have Gone To

I just wanted to write to you and thank you for all the time and knowledge you provided for my family and I while we were making a decision about my future. It is extremely appreciated. The Sauna Made Me Feel Physically Stronger and Mentally Stable

I never thought I would be writing anything like this success story when I first got here. I wanted to leave so badly. When I was finally persuaded to stay, I knew that I was in it for the long run. It is as if My Slate is Completely Cleared Now

Personal values and integrity are something you tend to lose sight of while you are using drugs. I cannot really express in words everything I’ve received out of the Narconon Fresh Start program. Confessing all the things I’ve done was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I was in denial for a very long time, but I was finally able to confront myself and the horrible things that I had done. I really took responsibility for all my actions and I feel better for it. I feel wonderful now that I’ve completed the Narconon Fresh Start program. The staff has been phenomenal throughout my experience here. I have completely detoxified my body of drugs and alcohol and all the residual effects of their use. I have more confidence in myself than I have ever had. I am extremely happy for the first time in many years. I have made many friends in the program that I plan to stay in communication with once I leave. My family is proud of me and I am equipped with the knowledge to determine who to gravitate towards and whom to avoid. Thanks to the courses, I’ve finally learned how to let go of my past transgressions. I know that I am fully rehabilitated. This excites me as I prepare to take on my new life. I Feel 10 Years Younger
